Responsibilities
- Design and implement server, storage and virtualisation infrastructure on VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix or cloud platforms.
- Build and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and file services.
- Manage hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises data centres and Azure or AWS, including connectivity and identity.
- Plan and execute upgrades, migrations and hardware refreshes with tested rollback plans.
- Implement backup, replication and disaster recovery with tools such as Veeam or Azure Site Recovery, and test them regularly.
- Configure and support core networking including switching, firewalls, VLANs and VPN with the network team.
- Monitor capacity, performance and health with tools such as PRTG, Zabbix or SolarWinds and address issues proactively.
- Automate provisioning and configuration with PowerShell, Ansible or Terraform.
- Apply security hardening, patching and access controls across the estate.
- Document infrastructure designs, standards and procedures and support Level 2 and 3 escalations.

Requirements
- 5+ years in infrastructure engineering or senior systems administration in a multi-site or hybrid environment.
- Strong Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory and virtualisation skills, with VMware VCP, Microsoft AZ-104 or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS infrastructure services and hybrid connectivity.
- Experience with enterprise backup, storage (SAN or NAS) and disaster recovery tooling.
- Networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls and VPN.
- Scripting in PowerShell or Bash and familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Clear written and spoken English for change documentation and cross-team coordination.
- Reliable high-speed internet with backup power, and availability across the client's business hours and planned change windows.
