Responsibilities
- Design security architectures across cloud, network, identity, endpoint and application layers.
- Assess risks and threats using frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Define security standards, reference architectures and policies for zero trust, identity, encryption and data protection.
- Review system designs, cloud configurations and code for security weaknesses and specify remediations.
- Select and design the deployment of security tooling such as SIEM, EDR, IAM, WAF, DLP and vulnerability management.
- Lead security elements of cloud migrations and new projects, embedding security in the design phase.
- Plan and oversee penetration tests, vulnerability assessments and remediation programmes.
- Support compliance efforts for SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA or GDPR as relevant to the client.
- Develop incident response plans and take part in tabletop exercises and major incident reviews.
- Advise executives on security posture, risk and investment priorities.

Requirements
- 5+ years in cyber security with at least 2 years in security architecture or senior security engineering.
- CISSP is required, with CCSP, SABSA, TOGAF, CISM or cloud security certifications (AWS or Azure Security) preferred.
- Deep understanding of network security, identity and access management, cryptography and cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, IAM and vulnerability management platforms.
- Working knowledge of frameworks and standards including NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls and OWASP.
- Experience supporting compliance audits and writing security policies and standards.
- Clear written and spoken English for board-level reporting and technical design reviews.
- Reliable high-speed internet with backup power, and availability during the client's business hours and for incident calls.
