Responsibilities
- Frame business problems as machine learning tasks and define the metrics that matter before any modelling starts.

- Write tests for data validation and model behaviour so pipelines fail loudly rather than silently.
- Optimise inference cost and latency through quantisation, batching and hardware choices.
- Document datasets, model cards and decisions so models are reproducible and auditable.
- Work with product and analytics teams to interpret model outputs and translate them into actions.

Requirements
- 5+ years of software or data engineering including at least 3 years building and deploying ML models to production.
- Strong Python, SQL and one deep learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow), plus scikit-learn and XGBoost.
- Experience with MLOps tooling such as MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker or Vertex AI, and with Docker and CI/CD.
- Solid grounding in statistics, model evaluation and the trade-offs between accuracy, fairness and cost.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks.
- Degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent applied experience.
- Confident English communication with the ability to explain model behaviour to business stakeholders.
