Quality Engineer VA

Responsibilities

• Develop control plans, inspection plans and PFMEAs for new and existing production processes.
• Run statistical process control and capability studies using Minitab and act on out-of-control conditions.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal, supplier and customer quality issues using 8D and 5 Whys.
• Manage supplier quality including PPAP or first article approvals, audits and performance scorecards.
• Perform measurement system analysis and manage calibration of gauges and equipment.
• Support APQP or new product introduction with quality planning and validation.
• Investigate customer complaints and returns and prepare formal responses.
• Conduct internal audits to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or AS9100 and support certification audits.
• Analyse quality data and report cost of poor quality, scrap and rework trends to management.
• Train production staff in inspection methods and quality procedures.
