Responsibilities

  • Financial Records Maintenance:
  • - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • - Record financial transactions, such as invoices, receipts, payments, and bank deposits, in accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • - Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • - Process accounts payable invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payment to vendors and suppliers.
  • - Generate invoices for goods or services provided to clients or customers and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • - Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with clients on overdue invoices to facilitate timely collections.
  • Payroll Processing:
  • - Calculate and process employee payroll, including wages, bonuses, taxes, and deductions.
  • - Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual reports, in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • - Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations regarding wage payments.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • - Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis.
  • - Analyze financial data and generate reports to provide insights into business performance and financial health.
  • - Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate and timely financial information to management.
  • Audit and Compliance:
  • - Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation and financial records as requested.
  • - Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations in all financial transactions and reporting.
  • - Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure adherence to industry standards.

Requirements

  • - Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • - Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk, with strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • - Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage, as well as Microsoft Excel for spreadsheet analysis.
  • - Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and financial calculations.
  • - Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact professionally with clients or vendors.
  • - Knowledge of payroll processing, tax laws, and regulations related to accounts payable and receivable.
  • - Problem-solving skills and the ability to reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues independently.
  • - Ethical conduct and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  • - Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar credential is a plus, but not required.
