- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Compile and present financial reports to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to facilitate decision-making and compliance.
Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Record financial transactions, such as journal entries, invoices, expenses, and revenue, using accounting software or manual systems.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and business objectives.
- Monitor budget performance and variance analysis to identify areas of improvement and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and provide guidance to management on tax planning strategies and opportunities.
Auditing and Compliance:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation, conducting audit tests, and reconciling accounts.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or related roles, preferably in public accounting or corporate finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, as well as Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards, financial analysis techniques, and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting, record-keeping, and compliance matters.
