Responsibilities
- Define and track SLIs, SLOs and error budgets for critical services with product and engineering teams.
- Build observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic or OpenTelemetry, including dashboards and meaningful alerts.
- Lead incident response, coordinate communication during outages and write blameless post-incident reviews with actions.
- Automate operational work with Python, Go or Bash to reduce toil and remove manual steps.
- Run and scale Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud with infrastructure as code.
- Plan capacity and performance testing, and tune systems for latency and throughput.
- Design for resilience with redundancy, graceful degradation, chaos testing and tested disaster recovery.
- Review application changes for reliability risks and advise developers on production readiness.
- Maintain on-call rotations, runbooks and escalation procedures.
- Report on reliability trends and drive improvements that reduce incidents and mean time to recovery.

Requirements
- 5+ years in SRE, DevOps or production engineering roles for customer-facing systems.
- Strong Linux, networking and cloud skills, with production Kubernetes and Terraform experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Go or Bash for automation and tooling.
- Deep experience with observability platforms and with designing alerting that avoids noise.
- Experience running on-call, leading incidents and producing post-incident reviews.
- Familiarity with SLO frameworks and Google SRE practices, with cloud or Kubernetes certifications an advantage.
- Calm, clear English under pressure for incident communication and written reviews.
- Reliable high-speed internet with backup power, available during the client's business hours and willing to take part in its on-call rotation.
