HR Compensation and Benefits Specialist VA

Responsibilities

  • Compensation Management:
  • - Administer compensation programs, including salary structures, job evaluations, and pay equity analyses.
  • - Conduct market research and salary surveys to benchmark compensation practices and ensure competitiveness.
  • - Review and analyze compensation data to recommend salary adjustments, promotions, and bonus allocations.
  • Benefits Administration:
  • - Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • - Administer benefits enrollment, eligibility verification, and changes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • - Communicate benefits information to employees, facilitate open enrollment, and address benefits-related inquiries.
  • Total Rewards Strategy:
  • - Develop and implement total rewards strategies to attract, retain, and motivate employees.
  • - Design and administer incentive programs, recognition initiatives, and employee perks to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • - Analyze the effectiveness of total rewards programs and make recommendations for enhancements or adjustments.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, laws, and industry standards related to compensation and benefits.
  • - Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and disclosures related to compensation and benefits programs.
  • - Stay updated on changes in legislation and regulations impacting compensation and benefits practices.
  • Employee Communication and Education:
  • - Communicate compensation and benefits policies, programs, and changes to employees through written communications, presentations, and training sessions.
  • - Provide guidance and support to employees on compensation and benefits-related inquiries, concerns, and issues.

Requirements

  • - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional) preferred.
  • - experience in compensation and benefits administration or related roles, with a strong understanding of compensation principles, practices, and regulations.
  • - Proficiency in compensation analysis, market pricing, and job evaluation methodologies.
  • - Experience with benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
  • - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • - Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to compensation and benefits, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to a diverse audience.
  • - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in compensation and benefits administration and reporting.
  • - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, HRIS (Human Resources Information System), and compensation/benefits administration software.
  • - Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism.
