Responsibilities
- Create and maintain multi-level bills of materials in SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor or the client's ERP.
- Set up new part numbers, item masters and revisions with correct descriptions, units, suppliers and classifications.
- Process engineering change orders, updating BOMs, routings and effectivity dates and notifying affected departments.
- Reconcile engineering BOMs from Teamcenter, Windchill, Arena or SolidWorks PDM with manufacturing BOMs in the ERP.
- Audit BOM accuracy against drawings and assembly instructions and correct discrepancies.
- Maintain item costing data and support costed BOM roll-ups for finance and sales.
- Manage obsolescence, superseded parts and alternates so purchasing is never ordering discontinued items.
- Support new product introduction with BOM structures, phantom assemblies and configuration rules.
- Generate reports on BOM changes, where-used and inventory impact for engineering and operations.
- Document BOM and change control procedures and train users on them.

Requirements
- At least 5 years maintaining BOMs and item data in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Proficient with an ERP such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor or NetSuite and a PLM or PDM such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Arena or SolidWorks PDM.
- Able to read engineering drawings, assembly instructions and part specifications.
- Advanced Excel skills for BOM comparison, mass updates and audit reports.
- Clear English for change notices and coordinating with engineers, buyers and planners.
- Precise and disciplined, with a strong sense of how a small data error flows into production.
