Responsibilities

  • Technical Drawing and Design:
  • - Create detailed technical drawings, schematics, and plans based on specifications, sketches, and instructions provided by engineers, architects, or designers.
  • - Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce accurate and precise drawings, incorporating dimensions, annotations, and symbols as required.
  • Drafting Support:
  • - Assist in the preparation and modification of drawings, layouts, and blueprints for various construction, engineering, or architectural projects.
  • - Collaborate with project teams to review drawings, identify errors or discrepancies, and make revisions or corrections as necessary.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping:
  • - Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation, ensuring version control and document management procedures are followed.
  • - Prepare and update documentation such as bill of materials (BOM), technical specifications, and assembly instructions to support project requirements.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • - Coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers, to gather information, clarify requirements, and resolve issues related to drawings and designs.
  • - Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • - Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • - Conduct quality checks and inspections to verify dimensions, tolerances, and design specifications are met before finalizing drawings for production or construction.

Requirements

  • - Diploma or Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • - 2+ years of experience in drafting or CAD design, preferably in the construction, engineering, or architectural industry.
  • - Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit, with a strong understanding of drafting principles and techniques.
  • - Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations relevant to architectural, civil, or mechanical drafting.
  • - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings, layouts, and schematics.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • - Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • - Familiarity with document management systems and version control processes for maintaining drawing records and revisions.
  • - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
